Welcome to The Farmyard

Established in May 2008, The Farmyard offers a high standard of contemporary accommodation set within a traditional Somerset farm, combining rural heritage with modern design.

The Snell family have been farming in Somerset for five generations, turning their hand over the years to dairy, beef, pigs, poultry and cider. Today, the farm is home to a pedigree herd of Longhorn cattle and is a leading producer of high-quality beef, proudly served in The Trough – the family’s very own on-site café and restaurant.

Following the decision to sell the dairy herd and diversify into holiday accommodation, the family enlisted the help of a local award-winning architect to create our unique, state-of-the-art apartments. With a traditional façade on one side and striking contemporary zinc and glass on the other, The Farmyard blends seamlessly into its surroundings while taking the farm firmly into the future.

Ideally located close to the town centre of Yeovil, The Farmyard enjoys a peaceful setting with uninterrupted views down the valley and across to the Mendips. Guests can enjoy the best of both worlds – tranquil countryside living with easy access to local amenities.

Yeovil is a vibrant market town with a population of approximately 40,000, situated on the southern boundary of Somerset. It lies 130 miles from London, 40 miles south of Bristol, and 30 miles from Taunton.

The town and surrounding areas offer a wealth of well-known attractions, including stately homes and gardens, the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Longleat, Splashdown, Lyme Regis and many beautiful seaside resorts – making The Farmyard an ideal base for exploring Somerset and beyond.
